I earned my BA in Psychology from Western WA University and developed a strong interest in working with high school students. I received my Master’s degree in Education from City University with a focus in Guidance and Counseling. After working with high school-age students for a few years, I really became interested in going to the next level of education. I began my first Academic Advising position at Highline Community College in 2010. I worked with Pre-Nursing students and also assisted with their Running Start orientations. I was drawn to my current position at Clover Park because I wanted to work more specifically with Running Start students. In addition to being the Running Start Advisor/Counselor here, I also advise for the Allied Health programs on campus.

In 2008 I joined the Clover Park Technical College Advising & Counseling team. I enjoy helping students reach their educational goals and seeing them succeed.

A Tacoma resident since 2000, I grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and attended Bay de Noc Community College in my hometown of Escanaba before transferring to Michigan State University and became the first in my family to graduate from college.
My work in higher education began at Pierce College with the Running Start program, from there I moved to the University of Washington - Seattle. For 14 years at UW, I worked with students at the Robinson Center and in Undergraduate Academic Affairs and in 2010 earned a graduate degree in Education Leadership and Policy.
In 2018, I joined the CPTC family as a faculty counselor working with the Nursing Programs and Career Services. Since leaving CPTC, I have worked at TCC with their Office for EDI and with UW Tacoma.
Outside of work I am a voracious reader, a developing creative writer, and an unapologetic coffee snob. I also volunteer with two great organizations in Tacoma… The Mary Bridge Center for Grieving Children and Tacoma Hilltop Artist.
